Last night and tonight at the hotel where I'm staying , there have been teams of high school wrestlers. All co-ed by the way. I think they are here in Georgia for some kind of state tournament. When I first saw them at the hotel I was like... "Ugg!" But all of them have been very respectful and very quiet. I'm here for business and I need my sleep.

i saw a bunch of them in the hallway last night and I think they were from Gainesville, Ga. They are the "Red Elephants." I saw the mascot on their uniforms and threatened to whip their asses if they made a lot of commotion, and then told them to go kick some ass tomorrow in the tournament. They all seemed like a bunch of good kids.

Let's see how they do tonight... I think there's 3 other teams at the hotel here now. Almost 100 kids.

They got a good coach that likes his sleep too 😃

I’m biased, having three boys that wrestle, but we’ve been through all the sports and wrestlers are by far the most disciplined bunch you’ll find.

I was preaching a revival in Milton, Florida, a few years back. There was a AAU basketball tournament in Milton. The motel was full of the most rowdy, undisciplined kids, and adults, that I have ever seen. I had to call the front desk more than once, and eventually the police came, to settle them down. I got up early. I started to just go down the hallways screaming at the top of my lungs, to wake them all up. You can fill in the blanks in my story.

Wrestling is the best sport by far that we’ve been involved with.

My son wrestled when he was young and then stopped for a few years because it interfered with hunting. But, he started back in 7th grade and now is wrestling varsity as a 9th grader. It is a really tough sport and takes a lot of time and dedication.

My experience with wrestlers is that 90% of them are the best boys you will be around. I also have learned that even though they compete as individuals, the teammates seem to become closer that people playing other sports.

They do travel more than other high school sports. My son is in Knoxville this weekend. They’ve been to mobile and Nashville this season in addition to all the local tournaments.

I meant to follow up on this thread...

I got back to the hotel from the plant Thursday there were more buses. When I got down to the hotel bar for a drink, I know the bartender so I asked her about it, She was like, "Oh yeah we have 4 teams here now from 4 different schools. Still it was pretty quiet and peaceful. When I went to the hotel gym Friday morning to workout a few of them came in to hit the cardio machines and they were very nice and respectful young men.

The only time it even got a little noisy was when the coaches had to go around room to room to wake everyone and make sure they made it to breakfast.

Friday was a travel day for me to the beach so I took my time getting up and at'em.
