I’m in the market for a 65”. Is it wise to get the smart tv or just a standard tv and add the roku? All we do is stream.

Look at a Visio smart TV, I only stream and they give you several movie channels for free. I think they are made by Sony. Picture quality is great.

I've got a 65" Vizio smart TV... It does way more than what I need it to. I bought it because picture quality is great

Do they still make the non smart TVs? Heck, you can buy 65" Samsung 4k HD smart TVs for less than $600. Maybe even less than $500 if you catch a sale.

We have 3 Vizio TVs. Well had. We have 2 now and trying to get them to load up the smartcast app to stream is a pain.

Lately I have been having to switch inputs and go back to get the app to load so I can stream anything. It started first on the 55" in the living room and now the 2 bedroom units are doing the same thing.

I sold the 55" and replaced it with a TCL ROKU TV. I have to say it's been good so far and all the reviews I've found say its the brand available under $1K. I got a 55" for $289.00 from Sam's

I'd just get a smart tv, can always add whatever device might need later on. My theory is the TV's are all made in the same factory over in China somewhere. I've got a couple of Vizio's but also have some of the no-name brands from wal-mart when they put them on sale cheap, can't say I really have a complaint about any of them.

You're spot on about the smartcast. I bought a small one for the bedroom less than a month ago. The smartcast worked flawlessly the first couple of times but now it's a pain in the rear.

I'm partial to the TCL, if you have Costco membership they have some great deals on them.

One thing about their built in Roku system vs. the other manufacturer's native smart apps, the Roku apps all work better than most of the others, my Vizio smart TV will stream Hulu, YouTube, etc. but the Vizio apps do not support the live TV streaming (Hulu Live, YouTube TV, etc.) So I had to put a roku on it anyway.

Don't get a "smart" tv. Get a TV without any smarts at all if possible and then got to Walmart and get a Roku for $19. The technology changes way more often than you will need to upgrade your TV that any smart TV will be outdated way before the end of it's service life.

Brand doesn’t really matter to me. Like some of y’all have said they all come from the same place. My current living room tv is a Sharp and it has been great. Before that I think I had an Insignia from Best Buy. Again, very good tv.

Walmarks has the TCL in 65” for like $440 I think.

The TCL gets the best reviews for the money. I have one in my daughter's room and would buy another. I have a 2 year old Samsung 4k HD 55" , a new LG 4k HD 43" and the TCL 32" and the picture on the Samsung is much better than any of the others.

What? That doesn’t make sense at all.
