I killed one last season. Decent rack, 10 point. Processor aged him at at least 4.5. But, he had short legs and body. Easily fit on the front rack of four wheeler.

I took classes on wildlife biology from Dr. Keith Causey when I was at Auburn. He was the top of his field on the Whitetail deer in the early 90’s. His term for that type of whitetail was AJU.

Looks like a piebald to me. I’ve had one In my scope a couple years ago that I should have blasted but didn’t know they were as rare as they were. I’m like 95% sure I saw a completely black deer on the side of the road in a trailer park too.

Posting PIC for wdmax1

[Linked Image]

I'm not real sure but I think there is a possibility that the buck is just further away from the camera than the doe is and it makes it look much smaller.

Then again, I'm just looking at this one PIC and you have several to look at.

That does not as big as she looks in that photo, my guess is around 90. Wouldn’t shock me if he was 65-75.

I killed a 10 point 2 years ago like that. Had pictures of him for almost a month before I killed him and never thought he looked small because he was always alone. When I shot him he was trailing a doe in some planted pines and I never looked twice at the body because as soon as I seen the horns I knew it was the buck I was after. But when I got down to him I was surprised at how small he was. He was 5-6 years old and weighed 135 pounds. Short-legged deer that fit on the back of the 4 wheeler with ease. lol.

That’s one is definitely small. I was only taken aback because of the rack on such a small body. But regardless, can’t imagine they’re breeding many does. GL to all this year.

I had a class with his wife, at the time, for Environmental Biology in Winter Quarter 1986. She was a really good teacher.

Had one come through in like 2003. Through some thick stuff I thought it was just a stubby like spike or something but then he hit some thinner areas and I could tell he was a midget buck. Never saw him again.

hunted with a guy that shot an 8pt and got under 20lbs of meat, I saw the deer the day before and passed on him. I figured I would let his genes multiply and have a whole bunch of tiny deer.

I think if I saw him, I'd spook him on purpose just to watch him run.

Probably be funny.
