I had a request for eggnog for our family Christmas gathering and I need a good recipe.......I don't really care for it but I'll make a batch for the grown folks. Any suggestions?

ABC store has it with liquor already in it. Evan Williams brand is pretty good.

Make apple pie moonshine instead. Use Everclear 190 proof, apple cider, apple juice, brown sugar and cinnamon sticks. It goes down really smooth and will make the family get together much more entertaining.

Do it right.

Problem is, this needs to be made around the 2nd week of December to enjoy by Xmas. Makes alot. Might wanna cut in half.

12 egg whites
1 ½ cup sugar
12 egg yolks
1 cup sugar
¼ tsp. salt
1 quart cream
1 quart milk
1 quart bourbon
1 cup rum

Beat egg whites until stiff with 1 ½ cup sugar. Beat egg yolks until stiff and add 1 cup
sugar and salt. Fold into egg whites.

Whip cream until stiff. Fold into eggs. Mix all ingredients. Fold into egg and cream
mixture.

Refrigerate for at least 1 week to allow mellowing. Serve with fresh nutmeg ground over glasses.

We do it every year. In fact made some tonight

1cup crown black
1/2 cup brandy
1 store bought egg nog
1 gallon blue bell ice cream
6 egg whites
1/4-1/2 cup of sugar

Mix all them slowly mix in crown and brandy. Let set for 1/2 hour. Put your gallon on blue bell in about 1/2 before serving. Good stuff

I used Blade and Bow in one drink and Michter's in another.

I bought the southern comfort brand egg nog from Publix.
