Has anyone painted walls in their house using the paint that is advertised as that which can be scrubbed clean?

Likes/dislikes?

Sherwin Williams. Cleanable. What’s not to like.

Idk about washable, but the dry-erase paint is like $500-$800 a gallon

Semi gloss latex enamel. I use Behr with the primer in it from Home Depot. No flat wall paint can be washed, unless its latex enamel. Huntress have you used the Mre Clean erasers? They are around $7 a box. They are nothing but white sponges. You wet one and you'll be amazed at how it can clean marks off a wall.

All paints say they are washable. The sheen makes the difference. I only use dead flat on ceilings. Walls can be painted with matte, or eggshell finishes. They hide the imperfections in the sheetrock etc. Satin, semi-gloss, or higher sheens, show everything. Matte and eggshell have a low sheen, but the durability of higher gloss paints. They are easily maintained with a simple cleaner, like 409. I have painted professionally in the commercial and residential market, and served a apprenticeship in a union shop, many years ago. That was not a boast, but I'm not a novice. Take my advice. and buy a good quality paint, like Benjamin Moore, or Sherwin Williams. Behr is good also.

I like super paint from Sherwin Williams. Satin will clean off nicely. But the Mr clean magic erasers are the key to cleaning any wall ...

I am wanting to do something with the wall between where the backsplash of the counter top stops up to under the upper cabinets in the kitchen behind the stove. I am not sure if I want to paint it with something that can be cleaned easily or tile it. Painting definitely seems like the easier DIY project, though.

Thanks for the responses, guys!

We had to paint our kitchen when we were selling our last house and went with full gloss instead of what the builders did (we did not buy it new) which was flat. My wife trying to scrub it with flat paint peeled off layer after layer of drywall creating the need to repair it. Went with gloss and after a few uses grease came right off with a paper towel and dawn. Would recommend gloss if you don't mind the sheen for easy cleaning but tile is obviously easier. Since we were selling we wanted the cheapest and easiest option! thumbup

Eggshell or pastel is horrible for cleanup. Go semi gloss at least.

I have used mostly sherwin williams cashmere throughout my house in the satin finish. It doesn't clean up like I would have hoped. The Emerald line does do a better job in the bathrooms, but if you could stand the semi-gloss it would be better (like the others have said).

Have used diamond (ppg) in my garage and Behr premium ultra on woodwork. Not overly happy with either of those. But they are ok for the money.

white woodwork is the devil!!

On jobs I used to get paid for I used regal and aura Ben. Moore paints...they seemed to be better, but what do I know I didn't live in those houses.
