Personally I hate pex. It's a pain the ass and none of the connections will last. PVC and copper is the most reliable.
My opinions and comments are my own. They do not reflect the position or political opinions of Aldeer or any of the Aldeer administration.

Shark bites are OK for a quick, temporary fix. Pros use brass crimp and the real PEX brand.

Use the uponor brand of pex.. It takes an expansion ring instead of that crimp chit. More consistant connections and better pipe in my opinion

Uponor is the way to go. The connections are very reliable

Reno has the best advice. I didn't use that though, I ordered almost all my stuff for the cabin from here: https://www.pexuniverse.com/And so far it has held up well. I used the brass bands and I bought this tool set from Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GNU9BH8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1It worked just like it was supposed to and we have had zero issues. I honestly like working with PEX better than any other plumbing I have ever done. I ran all of our stuff from a central manifold with "home runs" to every single outlet in the cabin. I don't have a single splice or tee in the entire cabin. The only joints I have are at the manifold and at the actual plumbing fitting. The main reason I went with this rather than what Reno suggested, is that our cabin is a pretty good drive to anywhere. And since I don't have a plumbing truck stocked with all the various pieces I needed, I wanted a system that was compatible with stuff I could get on a quick run to Lowes in Ft. Payne. Do your own research like I did regarding tools, types and brands of pipe and types and brands of fittings. The only time I think I would use a Sharkbite fitting is if it was an emergency or a place where I couldn't get a tool.
