The wrong board though. No deer, but just a big boar hog. Too big for my son and I to load so now I have to go down in the morning and get the tractor with the front end loader to get the nasty thing out of there. I wanted one with big cutters to get the skull from it but this one, while being big, didn't have huge cutters. At least not big enough to fool with cutting the head off and boiling it. I rolled him the first shot and he kicked for a minute then tried to get back up and run off in a big nasty clearcut that he came from so I put another round in him to make him DRT. If I had known his cutters weren't going to be huge, I would just let him run into the clearcut to feed the buzzards. The shooting part was fun and I'm glad to get rid of one more, but now he has to be disposed of. I believe I'll take him to the edge of the swamp to feed the gators and other swamp critters.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I shot a big sow Sunday a week ago. Left her laying where she fell. Went back this past Sunday to fill the feeder and there was nothing left but the spine. Had to look around for it. Never did find the skull. Nature has a cleaning crue, let it work.

Well I'm about to go back in a minute and see what is left after last night. I told my son that I've heard pigs will eat their own dead, so let's go see if that is true.

None of our local processors fool with them and I am not up for cleaning one, nor was I impressed when I had some in the past. Besides, the last one I want to fool with or eat is a big ole boar. Now if you are into pork mountain oysters he had enough to feed an army battalion.

I've got a 250lb boar head in the pot right now. Been shot with a .357 magnum in the jaw. Cutters are about an inch long. Don't know why this guy wants me to even fool with it.

At my place a big bore will go untouched for months. Nothing will or can eat them evidently. I put a cleaned buck carcass and a big bore not cleaned sides by side and the deer was gone withing a day the bore was finally rotting away about 3 months later

True. Feral hogs will eat any other dead carcass. The problem with hogs is the skin. Unless they are gut shot, it is hard for the other scavengers to dine on the carcass. I've seen coyotes work on one and give up.

The skin is so tough nothing can tear into it. All you have to do is take a knife and make a long slit down the top side and things will progress very quickly. just open the buffet for dining...

I gut shoot hogs. I hate them nasty things. I would clean one unless I was really hungry.

Well buzzards were already on it when we went down at AM. I got the tractor and tried to load it in the front end loader and all I accomplished was moving it farther from the field and ripping it open so guts were hanging out. The buzzards were circling waiting for me to leave so I imagine they are feasting as a write this.
