My battery cable rubes thru while bush hogging one day. I run it about 6 hrs. Get it home and she won’t crank to get it off the trailer. Of course the battery is dead. I go to jump it off and smoke everywhere. That’s how I found the cable. I changed it out. Charged the battery. Nothing. Put another battery in it and nothing. Neighbor suggested I burnt the solenoid up so I put a new starter combo on it. Still nothing. I’m at a loss. Won’t even make a clicking noise. Any ideas??

Sounds like a bad ground but could be the switch depending on what got fried.
You need to get an IT shop manual and an electrical tester.
Battery, key switch, neutral safety switch and starter solenoid. That's it. It does not get any more simple.
It doesn't need the volt regulator or the alternator to crank. One of those wires goes to the black volt regulator and the alternator wire is obviously the one from the alternator, Doesn't need either of those. Just disconnect them.
If it has a 5 position switch it has Thermostart and there are 2 additional wires. Doesn't need those either just disconnect those from the back of the key switch for now.
If the neutral safety switch got fried you can bypass it for now but do fix it.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

If it was running and you lost connection between the battery and ground or pos. Most of the time, you will fry everything that was on at the time because the Alt. will over charge to the max because there is no battery to regulate, usually about 20 volts.
