Was gifted by my sweet wife a Yeti 65 for Christmas any good recommendations on a good locking system?? The one Yeti makes? I'm sure this has been discussed before, but tried to search the older thread and no luck

Let me borrow it. You will not have to worry about someone stealing from you smile

Remember that if someone wants it, it's just a theft deterrent. I had the yeti lock on mine and accidentally left the keys in my other truck, and had it locked in my old truck. I cut the cable with a pair of big cable cutters in 3 seconds. The yeti bracket fell out of my truck, and I replaced it with this. Fits it better and seems to be better made. I use another cable lock with it. I leave the lid unlocked so they can take whatever Natural light they want.

Did it come with a sticker? If not it's a knockoff and I'd return it.

I thought you paid for the sticker and got a free cooler.

I have a friend who used a tube if silicone to glue it to the bed of the truck.

rofl

He is pretty weird tho. I would want to be able to use my entire truck bed if I needed to.

I made a lock bracket for mine that looks just like the Yeti one, for about $3.00. Go to Lowes and buy an “L” bracket. Put it in a vice and bend it to the desired shape. Drill a hole for the lock. Took all of about 20 minutes ata fraction of the cost. Been working for probably the last 7 years.

I use a 1/4” steel cable. Rubber dipped it and it’s worked for 8 years.

Kids stole my RTIC, replaced with a Yeti. Wish they had stolen a Yeti and replaced with an RTIC. Hope you have better luck with yours.

Pewag hardened chain and boron carbide locks.

Bolt cutters wont harm either of them, and angle grinder takes too long to get through.

Nope. I had a similar cable on mine when I lost a Yeti and a Brute cooler. Angle grinder with a diamond blade.

Turned out to be his second try. I found later where he had tried bolt cutters and they didn't work.
