Those grip spurs or buckshots just guaranteed you were gonna be stuck when you went down. I sat one on a frame a few times had to get the 200hp tractor to get it out.

I'm in agreement with y'all. Reason I asked is a patient and I were talking about truck tires today it today and he said he did that on his truck. I had never even heard of that being done.

YES! I have a 2014 GMC Sierra, That has 20" wheels. Mud Tires for 20" wheels are EXPENSIVE. I looked on graig list and bought a set of 17" aluminum wheels with tires that had a few miles left on them for 200.000 . I got the goodie out those tires for 1 hunting season. Now I am on my second set of new mud tires. The tire store That I buy the 17" mud tires From changes them out every year after hunting season free of charge ( puts the original 20 inch street tires and wheels back on) The original tires still have good thread. I am $$$ ahead. I would recommend you to look for a similar deal. the only thing is the 17" wheels are for a Chevy . But They fit ,and I don't care! I now have 94,000 miles on my truck. Still running the original street tires 6 months out of each year.

Had a buddy did it with an old cj5 and then bronco. Both would go anywhere with those grip spurs!

I don’t see how it saves any money. If you are buying two sets of tires and you have to get them mounted twice a year you are not saving money. Add to that if you have two sets of rims. That isn’t saving any money. Just run what ever tire you want and replace them when they wear out. Just because you can go longer before buying a set doesn’t mean you have saved money when you had to buy two sets to get there.

I did for many years. Buckshots in the winter T/As after hunting season. Nowadays one tire is as sorry as the other

You would come out way ahead to buy a 4 wheeler or side by side for many reasons

A good point. Also, a lot of tires get dry rot after 4-5 years. Especially in storage.

Old school buckshots and common sense meant you never had to walk or call for help. I ran Q’s for many, many years and very few times used the winch.

When you wind up in an unmarked cemetery and all 4 find old graves. It’s on the frame. And makes for a long night way before cell phones were a thing. That was with Q’s. It was STUCK
