"A survivor and relatives of nine victims filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Remington in 2015, saying the company should have never sold such a dangerous weapon to the public and alleging it targeted younger, at-risk males in marketing and product placement in violent video games." FoxCan't believe the Supreme Court allowed this to continue.

I read that this morning.
The decision of the SCOTUS is really based on the procedural posture of the case and the SCOTUS procedural rules.
It is very hard to have SCOTUS review a *state* court case before it has been fully adjudicated in the state court system - but I agree that it is a very bad precedent for any court to say that the "marketing" exception to gun manufacturer immunity could apply.
I think the Connecticut Supreme Court let the case go forward without actual proof and evidence that "improper" or "illegal" marketing *caused* the Sandy Hook shootings >>> because I think that this is just a pleading/pleading stage issue, not a factual merits issue at this point.
I think this case will and should fail when it goes back to the state trial court on evidentiary grounds. In other words, where is the proof that anything Remington did to market the subject AR-15 actually caused the Sandy Hook shootings?
The mom who bought it and the kid who used it are both dead. So the plaintiffs will have a virtually impossible to meet burden of proof.

It's the increasingly common mentality that somebody else has to be to blame....It has to be somebody else's fault. It's the same people that look at "gun violence" and say "well, we have to do something!" They refuse to accept that evil people will find a way to do evil things, regardless of the lengths to which you go to prevent it.

An AR15 was used in that church shooting. An AR15 was also used to kill that shooter. It is not the gun.......

They may be thinking it is too early and anticipate that they will see this case again shortly.

Y’all would not believe how many assault rifles went to scrap yard from Remington in the last month. Brand new in box. Wonder if it has something to do with this? Which scrap yard?
There is 2 different high fence. 1 small and one big! Mine was free range in the big pen and was not a breeder buck. Why does it have to be twisted around??
