Can the adult carry a weapon too, or only the youth shooter?

How many people am i willing to sacrifice for freedom?
Everyone. All of them...

Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many!

Why we have to have a special season for every different kind of hunter is beyond me. Cant we all just hunt with what we want when the season starts? Bow hunters here is your special time, crossbow hunters here is your special time, muzzle loader hunters here is your special time, kids here is your special time. When does the (women hunters) special time start. I will wait until rifle seasonstarts since my kids will be shooting a deer with a rifle. When is the special dial time for the adult rifle hunters?

Hell they might as well since they made it where every nutsack wannabe bowhunter can sit on his corn pile with his crossbow and kill deer now.

Ben2 I appreciate your opinion and never had a youth season coming up so I understand your view. However I plan to take my oldest daughter next weekend if we can keep everyone well and will welcome the special season for youth. We will camp one of the nights make breakfast over a camp fire and sit in a two man ladder stand some. This will not be her only hunt of the season but it will be her special hunt and for that I am Grateful. As has been stated our sport and tradition are under attack and if this special season helps just a little in recruiting the next generation of hunters (which is the focus) then it’s worth it to me. You know I am 41 and I hope in 25 years that my daughters children still have a special youth season as that would mean we still have a season to enjoy.

I will go a step further I challenge each of you who love the outdoors to take a child hunting, fishing, 4 wheeler riding, feeder filling, or camera card pulling this weekend and share our great outdoors with them this weekend as a special time for them. Your future hunting may depend on it. On that note if there are any with a youth that needs a place to take them around hamilton this weekend let me know I have a few stands where they should be able to see a deer.

I’m excited for it personally. My lease partner and I both have 10 year old sons who are best friends and this weekend is about them and them only, we’re not even carrying weapons in the woods. We’ve already bought their bait licenses so we’re positive they’ll get does and we’ll get to skin them at the camp and have a campfire and everything. We’re going to check cameras and grill out and cook breakfast on the blackstone and just make a weekend of it.

We have five girls from my daughters softball team along with my two kids going to be hunting at our place this saturday. I can't wait cause besides my daughter I don't think any of the others have ever shot a deer before. I get more excited when the youngsters shoot stuff than when I shoot something. Gonna be fun.

All the kids are grown now.. but when I coached and they played park and travel ball that was the main reason I leased land was to take the ones that wanted to go and especially the ones without father figures.. now I have grand kids to help enjoy.. one of my sons is taking a neighboring kid(15) to our lease this weekend.. heck they are out there bow hunting today since schools out..

The kid made bad grades so I wont be able to take him this year. He was disappointed when he found out he couldn't go so I explained how it effected both of us. I enjoy him killing them more than I do myself killing one. Im trying to get off work so I can take a neice or nephew.

I'd rather take a whooping 😃

Unfortunately, that's probably the only time some folks will take their kids. I take mine all the time and will this weekend, but I've heard a lot of people complain about their kids getting in the way of them killing deer and just not take them until they're older. If you wait until 14,15 or 16, a kids chances of being an avid hunter are less IMO.

I’m probably in the minority concerning seasons. I wish we had a legit primitive weapon season (including straight wall cases like MS) and a shorter plain rifle season. I like being able to hunt with different weapons and I will throughout the year but if it was mixed in throughout the season it would at least keep some pressure down.

Youth season is one of my favorite weekends. I’m eating lunch with my son at school Friday then checking him out.
