An Autauga County school bus driver allegedly threw an eight-year-old boy off the school bus, left him on the side of the road, and drove off because of the boy’s bad behavior.

Police are investigating the incident, which occurred at 7 a.m. on Tuesday. The driver allegedly turned the bus around and let the boy out on the street where he lives, according to police reports.

Superintendent Spence Agee said the school system is also looking into the matter. He said he cannot comment further as school board policy does not allow him to comment on personnel matters. “We will conduct an investigation, and we will cooperate with any police investigation,” he said. “Once our investigation is complete the findings will be presented to the board and the board will determine what if any action is necessary.”

No warrants had been issued by Thursday afternoon and no arrests have been made. The boys’ parents filed a report on the incident. No more information is available as the boy is a juvenile.

Growing up and living all over with father in the military, I can remember only one place we lived that required a bus ride. One thing I can remember about that was that we were more afraid of the bus driver than any other personnel at the school.

I drove a school bus for 2 years. No matter what happens it’s the drivers fault. It’s hard to tolerate a bunch of disrespectful kids. That’s why I don’t drive anymore.

My parents told me if I got kicked off the bus I would have to walk.

Our school us got pulled over by the police. Me and the boy I was fighting had to get off and get chewed out by the cop.

The bus driver should have continued on to school and then let the principal know that the parents should be notified that the child would no longer be able to ride the bus due to his behavior IF the behavior of an 8 year old boy was really that bad. Haven't most school districts installed cameras on their buses just for such instances - to prove/disprove situations?

When I was 8 years old, every teacher, coach and bus driver had my parents complete permission to beat my arss if I was disrespectful.

And, I bet if you got in trouble with any of those people, you got it again by your folks when you got home.

You don't find that very much now. You are far more likely to find parents who threaten the school if they lay a hand on little Johnny and they little little Johnny rule the roost at home.

He should have been dropped off then when the dad got home if he had a dad that came home
He should have got his butt tore up for acting like a complete idiot, thats whats wrong with these kids, the parents think thier kid does nothing wrong

MY 8 year-old better not act in such a way as to be kicked off of the bus. If the bus driver removed my child from the bus ANYWHERE except at the school we would have issues.

Once the child boards the bus they are then in the care of, and the responsibility of, the school officials. To drop an 8 y.o. off ANYWHERE but the school was a bad mistake on behalf of the bus driver.

This could've went another direction. The boy could've been kidnapped after being dropped off and there would've been a thread on here calling for the drivers head

One of the worst beatings of my life is when I was in 8th grade.Bus driver said Van Halen sucked. I stepped off the bus and i said stupid bitach. It was under my breathe but she heard hit.

I got 10 licks with a leather belt had to write a long letter on how a boy should act, treat their elders, and an apology. I had to sit behind her for the rest of the year.

My mother also met with the bus driver every Friday to ensure I behaved.

My kid knows not to act in such a way to get kicked off the bus, and being married to a teacher its always the kids that act stupid that have stupid parents that file reports and go after the teachers. Its always the "not my kids fault" crowd makes me sick people need to control thier kids and beat that rear end for them and make them act right. If my kids get in trouble i go after them first its not like thier is a bunch of teachers bus drivers or cops out there just going off on kids for no reason. This never happened to me but would have no doubt if I ever acted out on the bus or school!!
