I got the a22 mag semi...i had to send it back to savage for ejection issues right off the bat but it's been good ever since. I've killed a lot of turtles with it and several beavers I'll hang on to it. I went with 22mag for a lil killing power but 17 does better at longer distance I usually don't shoot past 125yards. Ill use a 308 for yotes

I bought my grandad a ruger American 17 and it had ejection issues and it's a bolt action??? He ended up trading it in for a Browning t bolt 17and that's one sweet lil gun.

My A17 runs flawlessly and is surprisingly accurate

.17 and .22 mag do not work well in a semiauto. Savage claimed to have found the answer to the problems, with the delayed blowback system, but it is a miserable fail. Stick with bolt or lever action. My CZ 512 has never missed a lick

The cz does look like it would be good The 512 American is what I have. It will put them in a group about the size of my thumbnail @100 yards. The trigger sucks, but it can be improved upon. Really a nice little rifle.
