Hey all,

Just got a GoPro given to me as a gift. Want to film some hunts by mounting it to my bow. I bought a "Stabow" mount off Amazon that simply gets attached behind the stabilizer. It's junk! Pretty ticked, the plastic "threads" for the GoPro screw stripped. Useless. I've looked at the gun/rod/bow mount that GoPro makes, but not sure how well it attaches to a bow. Any recommendations? Tryna get YouTube famous here.

Mount to tree, you’ll never get footage worth seeing from bow.

Yeah I've tried bow mounted cameras and no matter where you mount them the footage is always gonna come out shaky and you cant see the shot well because of the shock from the shot.

Buy a Tactacam Solo it has magnification so you don't look like your 100 yards away. Or you can build you a plate to mount with your stabilizer and use your belt clip and your cell phone.

Actually the Hero 7 Black I’m using has a pretty awesome stabilization feature. And in 2.7K mode I can run the Hypersmooth stabilization and switch to a linear field of view instead of wide, and it has zoom on top of that. I imagine there will be shake on the shot, wasn’t able to shoot it while rolling yet, but I can clearly make out what I’m aiming at within 25 yards. Been thinking about the headstrap too. Idk maybe I should look at a camera arm, but would love to film straight from the bow.

I was thinking about filming some hunts. Question, why do some of the videos I watch on YouTube look like the deer is far away? The hunter will say, oh it came in at 10 yards , and to me it looks like the deer is 40 + yards away??

Wear it on your head and position it above your left eye. You will be able to see the deer and bow in the same frame.

Before hunting different states with bow mounted cameras or other electronics, check the regs. It's illegal here in Oregon
