Gonna have to buy something real soon and was looking at several trucks. I have seen a few of these with decent mileage. Anyone have any good/bad experiences with these trucks? I have always loved the Dodges for the front seat and big center console. What say you Aldeer experts?

I had on 08 2wd with the 4.7, and the damn thing would get stuck in loose gravel.

Isn't that true for all 2wd vehicles? Especially trucks. No truck is going to be front wheel drive.

Sure, but I wasn't speaking figuratively.

I like the Hemi engine better, but have known several folks who had the 4.7 go over 200K with minimal issues.

My work truck is a 2012 1500 4.7 4x4. It’s done just fine.

Wife's Commander has the 4.7 and has been a great engine thus far. 160k, plenty of power to pull our 26' camper, but gets around 14mpgs these days on average city driving. It gets as low as 8 when pulling the camper and can get as high as 17 cruising on interstate.

I got just under 100k on an 02 or 03 with the 4.7 when it blw a head gasket and was replaced under warranty. Had 100k mile warranty. Got about another 80k on the replacement engine before I wrecked it but it was running fine.

keep the oil changed and all maintenance o those 4.7 engines. sludge build up is an issue in them and can lead to big issues. I've 9 ly had one and engine wasn't an issue but those transmissions are known to only get 100k

I had a 4 door Ram truck as a rental on one of my business trips. It had the 4.7 engine in it. I was quite surprised at how much power and torque it had and how surprisingly good the fuel economy was. I think I got right at 24mpg for the whole trip. Calculated by me and also confirmed on the dash read-out.

Those engines "feel" more powerful than they are on paper, because they make a lot of torque down low in the RPM range. I remember watching a TV show where a guy was swapping a 4.7 into a Jeep and he said it was a great off-roading motor because of the low end torque.

Transmission is the one thing that scares me about this model. I believe I will go look at one anyway. Decent miles at 99500. Anyone have a clue at to what the Lone Star package included?

My hunting truck is a 2012 4.7L 4x4. 75000 miles and no problems yet. It is light in the rear.
