I might have the opportunity to hunt turkeys in Missouri this spring, not sure what part. Any thoughts on opportunities on a DIY hunt, will be on private land.

He gets it.

Do you want to hear him gobble, or do you want to kill him.

Missouri is one of my favorite stares to hunt. That being said, it’s like anywhere else, even the good areas of the state there are properties that don’t hold numbers worth traveling for. It just depends on the property and the situation. Definitely worth looking into.

Always, always, always have a backup plan to go to.

as you guys say on here. there are no turkeys in the state of Missouri, or at least the county you are wanting to go.

seriously, name the county and you can figure it out pretty quick. MDC has a widget that shows harvest numbers per county and they are legit (not like Alabama's). that is a good start. if you are north of the Missouri River and have some decent woodlots you'll be fine. if you are south it has more to do with hunting pressure. IMO

My only suggestion would be follow the letter of the law. My buddy has been stopped in Missouri multiple times and had an officer admit that "we profile the hell outta you boys from the south. Y'all are known to take more than the limit"

this

I am a mo resident, but for insurance purposes (since I sold our extra vehicle) my truck is in my wife's name and has Georgia plates. I have encountered game wardens about 6 times in my life...4 since I've had the out of state plates (in only 4 years)
