Neither.

Sherwin Williams, Porter, or Coronado if you want high quality paint.

Most all brands have a value, mid-grade, & premium option now. More important than the brand of paint is the quality of prep work.

But if you are stuck on those two, buy the heaviest can.

The heavier the can, the more clay and other pigment carriers it will have, which means it will cover better and tend to last longer.

Most pro's used to use Sherwin Williams or Ben Moore when I was in the remodeling business. Cheap paint ain't cheap when you have to use more of it to get the job done and prep is critical to a gualify job

Well we went with Sherwin Williams after our debacle at home depot trying to get Behr Marquee. I will drive further to another home depot before I take a step into our closest one. In good news the equivalent Sherwin Williams paint is excellent.

I did a thorough test on my interior home paint. Never ever buy valspar. Always buy Behr hands down. Valspar wont go as far and needs more coats. Too thin and costs more. Valspar is pure garbage.

Valspar is hot garbage. I made that mistake once...never again.

Sherwin Williams on sale (very frequent) 40% off is hard to beat for the quality. cashmere line or better for easy application. though the ceiling paint I think Behr is about as good as SW. Painted my garage with diamond (ppg I think) that I got on special for $10 a gallon. pretty thin but went on ok. wouldn't use it inside cause it was not easy to hide the roller lines.

Benjamin Moore is probably the best but it'll cost you.

I do a little part-time painting/remodeling as well as my own house.

I had the exterior of my hardie board house repainted about 6 months ago. I stepped up to Sherwin Williams Duration paint and the quality is hands down better than whateve the builder put on the house when it was built 4 years ago.
