Son saw 9 deer Wednesday evening on a plot. He killed one of the doe deer. He said all 7 grown doe were skinny as hell and so were the 2 fawns. They stayed in the greenfield mowing it down and didn't even go to the feeder. Are ya'll seeing a bunch of skinny deer?

I have been noticing alot of stuff has been eaten that normally wouldnt be this time of year. Im blaming it on the drought, lack of fresh grass the past couple months.

drought and feeding fawns

I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

Does I get on camera this time of year look like hell. Nursing fawns, especially twins, really draws em down. Plant your plots, put out a little feed. They’ll be sleek and healthy again in no time. Had a doe with twins around house last year. I felt plum sorry for her. But she fattened up and looked great by January. By end of season, fawns were nearly as big as mom.
