Not the TV show...

Who here likes to get alone sometimes? I sorta feel guilty about it bc my 3 boys love doing about anything I’m doing, but sometimes I like to just disappear. I fish nearly every Friday alone, but my favorite is solo camping. Just something about it.

I was off Monday and my family was on vacation at the beach, so I took advantage of the rare opportunity I get to head out. I did an overnighter out if my boat and hammock camped by the lake. The weather was perfect. I was tired, but I didn’t really want to go to bed bc of how nice it was. The moon streaming down through the trees and the slick calm water was like a scene from a movie. I ended easing down the shore and poking around the woods till about 10 o’clock.

Nobody but me and the coyotes howling, owls hooting, and deer that kept blowing at me. Talking about calm, soothing, and stress level zero.

I do a lot of farm work alone, in fact all of it, to be exact. I enjoy it, and it’s worth it. But it makes me think twice about taking someone hunting who might shoot a nice 2 year old, with no sweat equity in the place.

Ain't nothing wrong with that! I love my boys to, but sometimes you have to take time for yourself, just like being married if there was any advice i could give a young married couple that just had a child it would be to not forgot to take time with EACH OTHER! I've seen a lot of marriages fall apart because people forget the very reason why they fell in love in the first place....

Now with that said. The wife had surgery last Thursday and I've been taking care of her every day, so daddy needs a break himself 😳 I thought about faking an illness just so i could call an ambulance to get me out of this place for a while 🤣🤣🤣 Sunday was rough for sure lol....

That’s very true about young or any married couples. Life gets so hectic, they forget why they started a life together. Solid advice.

Only alone time I get is on the tractor. I really think I can solve most of the world problems from that tractor seat. I the flip side, if you have something eating at you, solitude can eat you alive.

A day or two are considered Short increments?? I walked outside the other day for 5 minutes of alone time and it felt like a lifetime. crazy laugh

I’ve got a 1 month old and 16 month old though, so there isn’t much free time right now. I’ll get back to it soon enough.

I would love to do something like that. Some people can't stand being alone with their thoughts but I crave my alone time. It's the main reason I hunt.

Absolutely nothing wrong with alone time. Some of these folks think you have to carry your kids every where you go and that's really not healthy for you or them. People need time to themselves to recharge their batteries. Time away from loved ones only makes it better when you see them again. If a child hears the words, no you cant go this time, that's not a bad thing. Kids nowadays need to hear the word, NO, more often.

Well I used to like that until my wife passed away now I have to go to piggly wiggly or Walmart to be with someone. Seems as though all or most of my friends have gone on and don’t mention my going to nursing home to volunteer to depression especially when I see some of my classmates that don’t know me 😢but then I have my two dogs 🐕 and they love me 🤣

I am drinking from my saucer cause my cup has overflowed. Thank you Lord

One of my favorite times of the year is the last two weeks of January. I spend it at the farm by myself and it is awesome.A few years back I spent 10 days up there with zero human contact other than the nightly wifey calls.Other than the wife, I did not miss mankind at all.
