I need to locate a hay spear for a John Deere loader. The loader is an H240. The loader is on a 5055E Four Wheel drive. I want to keep as local as I can to the Shoals area if possible in locating one. The new loader we have now is not compatible with the other attachments. John Deere simply changed the hookups for the loader so folks would have to buy new pieces of equipment and not use their old attachments. Aggravates me to see companies do this simply for profits!
Thanks,
B

Thanks,
B You can buy the parts to convert your loader arms to a standard skid steer hookup, if thats what you did have. If you had the older JD hook and pin hookup I dont think you can convert the new one to that old style. I have a friend who had a tractor burn, but still has his other one and they were different. I will ask him if he has a hay spear for the one that burned. JAson

If you have the means to do so build you one. 2x3x.188 tube , some 1" solid round bar and a piece of 3" sq tube. You can get the spear and sleeve at TSC for $100. This is what I did after I called the JD dealer and they said a green one was almost $500 and an aftermarket one was $350. If yours uses the quick attach like a skid steer, there is a place in Hampton Cove I believe called Skid Loader Depot.
