I need to plant something, if it ever rains again, on a power line in front of my house. Its next to a road so I don't want to give the road hunters any help. Something that will grow in the cool season. I can plant grass or millet in the spring. This is just for erosion. It's a small spot, say 30'x40'. What ya'll got?

You could try Cogongrass. It grows fast, controls erosion and nothing will eat it. WARNING I am kidding

Would cedars get cut down by the power company?

Just let me hang a stand there...deer will never show.

I don’t think cedar trees would do a very good job of stopping erosion on a 30’x40’ piece of ground.

Maybe fescue, our deer don't seem to eat it much. and you could add a simple electric fence around an area that size easily.

I was thinking more a few cedars at the edge of the road then you can plant whatever in the open area. Cedars would block the view of road hunters

No tree's this is a power line and I don't want any reason for a road hunter to shoot towards my house. May just have to wait until spring.

Old carpet is good for erosion control

One fescue grows when summer fall grasses die and looks green until frost or colder weather may be Kentucky31. Got some in my yard that has to be cut later in fall/winter and pops up in cooler weather I hate the extra grass cutting, but it does look good. If you was closer by I would let you have some not sure it is good, but still have about 30 pounds of seed left.
