Derek & The Dominos (Clapton). Vocals are better than Hendrix's. SRV's is good, but it's just instrumental, no vocals...and I like the vocals.

Touche' but in reality I don't like a lot of SRV's vocals on his songs.... his guitar is like manna from heaven. It's so good you don't need vocals.

Hendrix ... i have a CD somewhere of the original studio recordings of Hendrix, hashing through the creation of this song, and you begin to hear the genius behind the guy ... even his "rough" cuts at it were phenomenal ...

If you could play guitar like SRV, your vocals need only be serviceable, which is exactly how I would describe his. In the case of this particular song, D&TD combined great vocals AND great guitar.

Of Course that album (Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs) is one of the GOAT albums.

i'd have to search for it, but ya ...

i'm fairly certain of the accuracy of this story - BUT - supposedly, Hendrix had ALL of __ Axis: Bold As Love __ recorded and they were in the last stages of producing the album, when the master tapes were misplaced/lost -- and he had to go back in, under the gun, and re-record the entire album in a very short period of time ... *IF* this is true, it puts an entirely whole new sound in your ear, knowing that the dude pulled it all back off in just a few days ... i've often wondered if this is why that album is a bit more raw/rough than his other studio albums -- but i love Axis: BAL - probably one of my fave albums of his

I enjoy some SRV, but he's no Jimi Hendrix. Hendrix is the greatest that has ever been, or ever will be.
