My sons school does a gun raffle every year for the athletic club. Well last year they tried doing 30 $400 gift cards and didn't even sell enough tickets to cover the cost. The previous years had been 30 guns in 30 days and made about 20k each year. Needless to say we are back to doing the guns this year.

She will be on the news in a few weeks about her kids getting bullied.

Agreed. When will they respond on this forum, where they have sold tickets. They will not be carrying out the raffle as advertised, so how will they refund the money to people who bought the tickets for a "Gun Raffle" and are not interested in a "gift certificate" raffle??

I would ask for a refund as well. You sold me a gun raffle ticket and changed the rules because of one Mean Mommy.

It is our gun raffle and nothing has changed but the word gun the gift cards are for southern outdoors and will be valued at the price we would pay for the gun. If you win you can absolutely get the gun that the gift card is valued for.

I thank you all for your input but dont criticize a group of people for doing what they feel is best for the community this was not the attention we wanted to bring to our kids or our community

So instead of winning a specific gun, you now win your pick of any gun (or any other item, for that matter) up to that specific value, that the store offers.....explain to me, again, how this is a negative. Other than the appearance of caving to anti-gun people (and that is debatable, since you can still certainly "win a gun" if that's what you choose to win), this actually seems to work out better for the winner(s)....

I live in this community and was going to support your cause and am upset and displeased that you guys are Bowing down for this nonsense. I know kids on the varsity team. (Although I don’t know if goes for that) This raffle has been going on several years. It’s the PRINCIPLE of the matter. I’m no longer supporting the raffle. Things like this only embolden them and make the 2a crowd look weak.
