Thieves are terrible. We shouldn't have to expect that. But we do. Why did you leave all of that in your truck? Never. If they break in my truck home they will get some mints and pocket change.

The only one of those items that ever gets left in my truck on a consistent basis is my pistol,which going forward,will not be happening again. My wallet being left in there was a total fluke. I'd actually gone out to dinner fri evening with the family,and I freaked out when I realized I'd left it at home in my truck,as we'd driven my wife's SUV. I knew I'd need it sat morning at work,so I just left it in my truck when we got home from dinner. Only reason the large sum of cash was in there was because I was supposed to pick my camper up fri after work,but the guy cancelled on me,and I'd planned on picking it up Saturday after work. Just really bad circumstances. If there's a silver lining, the bad guys could've used my garage door opener in my truck and cleaned my garage out,and entered my home with my gun. I'm just thankful it didn't come to that.

It's an expensive lesson learned. Car wasn't unlocked. Looks like they pried the door open along with some type of pump and hit the door lock button according to the cops. We can all say we're vigilant about not leaving valuables in the car,but we've all done it. Get off your high horses and ease up on the lectures. I feel absolutely horrible it happened,and will take it as a hard lesson learned. Hopefully they catch the perps before anyone is harmed. I do agree that leaving a firearm in a vehicle is bad idea and dont intend on doing that going forward. Man I hate that! I’m bad to leave my wallet and stuff in my truck too but if that stuff hadn’t been in the truck they may have broken into your house! Hard to stop a dang thief

They will be back. You made it too easy for them. I got something for em'... gonna take alot more than 4.10 bird shot to stop as well. They didn't take the 2 boxes of 4.10 pdx ammo I had in the door. Just got the 5 loads of bird shot I had in it for snakes.

Yep. Sorry this happened to you but as former Florida LEO Keeping a gun in a vehicle is not smart. First reason is it can easily be stolen. Second reason is people with car guns tend to forget they have them. It is a good way to have yourself taken out of your vehicle at gun point. I've literally seen folks open a jammed glove compartment to get a registration and the gun flies out into their lap. The bewildered look of surprise on their face only gets worse when the LEO holds him at gun point waiting backup to clear the vehicle. Don't be that idot. Car guns are a bad idea.  law abiding citizens shouldn't keep guns in their vehicles because cops don't like it? I was an LEO for thirty years and never saw a gun fly out of a glove compartment let alone fly onto someone's lap while in the driver's seat! It boils down to not leaving a firearm in an unattended vehicle.
