I have had probably 6 calls to my house over the summer and replaced just about every component in my unit. The issue is this say my unit is set on 68 and it is working great blowing 62 out of the vent but if I adjust it to 70 from 68 it will be blowing 84 degrees like the compressor isn’t on. The Capacitor, compressor and thermostat is new. Please help me I am running out of confidence with these AC people!

62 wouldnt hardle be an acceptable supply temp, Your temp difference between supply and return air should be 16-21 degrees depending on a few variables. If its blowing 82* at any point in AC mode you are either also running 1) electric heat or 2) returning air from the hot attic.

If it's a heat pump or have electric heat I'd look into the electric heat at sequencers, relays or electrical heat/blower control board.

I've seen it way to many times and it's easy for someone not experienced or knowledgeable to look past it. A quick amp draw reading on some wires would tell you.

How old is your system ???? Not knowing what type of system you have or how it's set up,,,,You may have a thermostat problem or the power lead running to your thermostat coming from the outside portion of your system could be weather worn, dry and brittle from being in the outdoors for a long time may need to replace the power wire going to the thermostat.... I have seen digital thermostats that run on AA batteries ,,,when they get real low on power they can cause problems running an system. check for low or dead batteries or get it hardwired.

When turned on make sure your fan that cools the compressor is running,,,, if one capacitor was replaced do you know if the capacitor is two stage capacitor ? you may have two separate capacitors... one to start and one to run ,,,,, http://www.hvachowto.com/start-run-capacitor/

It kind of reads to me like you may still have a capacitor problem,,, that's if your unit has two capacitors. but don't dismiss the thermostat and power line to it. I've seen extreme summer heat cause new parts to fry even.

Is it a two stage unit? It may be that heat strips are coming on and second stage cool is overcoming it a little bit. Or maybe y1 is bringing on your heat strips and y2 is bringing on your compressor.

Take a picture of the wiring at the base plate behind your thermostat and the wiring at your unit.

He's right you know. could also be the programable thermostat is not configured correctly. I'm not sure you have the right man working on it.

I had a similar experience. Mine was heating and cooling at the same time. My power bill was the clue.

Like Travis said, 62 is barely acceptable as it is, unless you run your house at 82 degree set point, which I'm sure you don't.

84 degree supply temp makes me think you could have electric heaters operating during A/C mode. Check amps draws on the heaters when the unit is producing warm air.

Realistically you could have have a ton of different things going on, So it's hard to pinpoint over the interwebs.

Either way, 6 calls in one Summer is not acceptable what-so-ever.

My thoughts are that when I change the temp the system cuts off, then when it comes on the compressor never comes back on until I go reset the break to totally kill the power after I do that the compressor comes back on and the cooling begins.

Do you have a split system? Package unit? Heat pump? Gas Heat?

Was the tstat compressor and everything replaced in hopes of remedying the current issue or have the issues arrived after the fact?

Just to add I used Myers and they installed a new compressor and it was leaking at the big line 3 weeks after the install, so I called them back and they said it happens and I would owe all the lost Freon and labor to fix. I am taking them to small claims court in a couple of weeks for the principal of it all. I say it loudly do not ever use Myers Home Specialist, one of the calls the guy told me it was his first solo call and he replaced a breaker that was not the problem and then I call Myers back and they said the couldn’t come back for 4 days, so I fussed and they said “it was working when he left”.

I don't know anything about that company...But in the A/C world, you usually get what you pay for and they don't sound like a good reputable company. I would find a highly recommended company ASAP.

Leaks on suction lines of newly installed compressors can happen....But they absolutely should not happen. That alone tells me that they didn't take the proper steps needed for a compressor replacement.

I'm no lawyer but could already have your money back in your pocket.

62° out the vents in a 72° home is not within an acceptable range a 20-25° drop across the coil is ideal you arent any where near that range. you have a problem with the duct work or the heat running with the compressor could possibly be the reversing valve sticking if its a heat pump.
