I hope they talk a little about Freddy Hart. My BIL was Hank Locklin's MD and we got tag along to a small get together at the Russell Sales house when they were putting on a show at the Amp several years ago. My wife and I were dancing and he came over and started talking to us. Among other things about Freddy is that he was a WWII vet with combat experience in Iwa Jima. He was from Loachapoka and even at his age was a true bad ass hero American. Others at this party was Ferlin Husky, Helen Cornelius, Razzy Bailey and of course Lynn Anderson, she was obnoxious as hell and a drama queen, the only way to get her to shut up was a going to get her a dam Big Mac from Mcdonalds. They were cooking a country breakfast too. Everyone that I met that night was super people.

WM Hunter "Trump literally sacrificed himself, his family and all of his businesses for this country.
He literally is a true American hero. And True American Patriot - warts and all."

Holy spinning vinyl, Batman! I never knew that The Beatles did a Buck Owens recording.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

Me neither. Act Naturally was my favorite Buck Owens & the Buckaroos' song. I'll stick with the original Buck Owens version. Forget the Beatles. rofl

The song "Junior's Farm" was written and sung by Paul McCartney about staying at Curly Putman's farm while recording in Nashville.

On one of our family vacations to the mountains maybe twenty years ago or so we went to Dollywood and inside the main entrance Connie Smith had a booth set up signing autographs. It seems like she was selling copies of a book she wrote and autographing them. I had heard of her, but didn't realize she was a s big a star as she was until this episode. I missed my opportunity to add her to the list of famous people I've met guess.

Being a child of the 60s, this show really has taught me about the people my mom and dad listened to on the radio on our Sunday afternoon drives. When my dad was stationed in Charleston SC when the Destroyer he was on, the USS Sellers, I believe, wasn't away on a cruise, they would do Sunday afternoon drives in the country. I hated having to go, but would do anything to have those days back.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

We were down at the beach last weekend and it came on Sunday night. The wife and I and her Father
had rented 2 Red Box movies but ended watching this instead on Sunday night.

Good stuff. 5 stars.

I think Ken Burns has a man crush on Johnny Cash, he's spending a lot of time on him. We should have been introduced to George and Tammy on last nights episode . frown

Great documentary! I stumbled across it yesterday afternoon and almost wasted the whole day and night watching it. I am guessing the first episode was the one talking about the upstart of radio stations across the country was the most fascinating. And how the Liberty life insurance owned WSM and it stood for We Shield Millions.

I thought it was genius how Liberty had it's agents walking the streets on Saturday night listening for which houses had the Opry on radio , then next week the agents would call on those houses.

Another thing I noticed was how much from O Brother Where Art Thou, was actually true. There really was a Pappy O'daniel flour hour show.

This Board is a strange place- from previous thread half thinks The Beatles suck (even though I secretly think most never listened to much past a few early songs) and now Bob Dylan sucks. Tough crowd.

Bob Dylan sounds like a dying frog trying to sing.
