Well I learned something. I always thought Willie Nelson did a nice cover of Patsy's "Crazy". I had no idea had actually wrote it.

I hope some of these “artists” on the radio nowadays are hanging their heads in shame as this documentary plays out.
If I was some of them I wouldn’t be able to keep on after watching and hearing this series.

Conway Twitty turned down a MLB contract to sing country music. Next episode is lining up to be good too bringing in Merle Haggard.

Can't remember all of them, it's been so long. Solid gold.

How many of y'all have ever been driving late on a Saturday night and tuned into WSM to the Opry? I don't now, because I don't care for the music, but back in the day it was cool to be cruising along in the dark and tune in.

I've been to the Grand Ole Opry and it was great. I remember little Jimmy Dickens but don't remember who else was there. I've also had the privilege to see my 2nd cousin perform, Porter Wagoner. Through that connection, I got to meet Dolly before she went out on her own.

After this episode, for the most part they can just stop the show as far as I’m concerned. There are only a few “country” stars that I care to listen to beyond that generation. A few, but truly not too many.

Spent most of my childhood listening to WSM every Sat. night on the back porch in the swing. That was mandatory at our house. We did have a TV with 3 channels out of Huntsville but WSM and the police scanner provided the most memorable entertainment.

I figure the next two will be pretty good then it'll start falling off quickly.

IMO, they don’t need to take it any further than Alabama and George Strait. Not much, if anything significant past that.

Hate I have wait until Sunday though. For those that have missed it, they are showing all the episodes Sunday.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Been watching for a couple of hours now. Dang good stuff and some that I remember from growing up in the 60s. In particular I remember the days of household sadness with news of the plane crash that took Patsy Cline, Hawkshaw Hawkins and Cowboy Copas. Country music was a big thing in our house. Daddy picked his Gibson and sang by himself and with others local pickers for as long as I can remember.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.
