I have a question about when/if it ever comes to the government trying to confiscate AR/AK style weapons.
Since uppers are not FFL controlled, will they just go after the lower receiver? Was looking at buying a few uppers and got to thinking....

Sig Sauer, to hell and back reliable.

Whatever suits you just tickles me plum to death.

Can I refill your eggnog for you? Get you something to eat? Drive you out to the middle of nowhere and leave you for dead?

Go with 80% lowers if you're inclined for off the books.

But really at the end of the day, you're on a deer hunting website, the government already knows that you own firearms.

yes we do and now he has gotten himself on the list of people that may try to stockpile/hide weapons from us when we start going door to door....

The bigger question, since there's not supposed to be any kind of record or registry of who has what, is how would the government know anyone has one and who to visit to confiscate it?

All this spouting is just Beto chest-thumping in Texas. Y'all haven't heard any other candidate be as vocal in the last week as he has. He did it and is making up stupid stories, like talking with "Republicans" at an Arkansas gun show and at a Bucee's urinal when they were whizzing about how they said he's right. He's just making up sh*t and being Eric Salwell Lite because he has nothing else.

Biden, Sanders and Warren will be the finalists, possibly Sanders number three in that list. The rest are just DNC window dressing for now.

Well Clem they could "possibly" subpoena firearm manufacturers, they know exactly what gets shipped where, then they can go to the Dealer or ffl holder cause they have to keep "records" so there is ways that they could track 'em down. Heck i didn't send my ruger pistol back to them for a recall and they tracked me down through the store i purchased it from

the government cant maintain a record so they make the FFL holders maintain them, all FFL holders are required to keep records of tranfers

Beto is just the only one using it as a major talking point and he's just doing it for attention because he's got nothing else. The others want the same thing, they are just more subtle about the way they talk about it. Make no mistake, if they get both chambers and the presidency, they will come for them in some form.

If I found myself standing at a urinal next to Robert Francis O'rourke, I would turn and pizz down his leg.

Clem you nailed it. As soon as I heard him say they said they'd be happy to shred or get rid of them I knew he was full of it. Comments like his gets him beat at the poles..

That's exactly why they are pushing universal background checks. They would require a gun registry to be enforceable. Also, like others had said, FFL holders are required to keep 4473s for 20 years. So if they pass registration, it could be retroactive back 20 years. Of course they dont know what those have been through in the last 20 years (bought, sold, stolen, boating accidents and such).

Hmm reckon "If this happens" be an uptick in lathes&endmill sales? Far as the Left going after ammo we need to trumpet the Federal Excise taxes ammo and guns bring. "If" the Leftists win I reckon I could teach Goobers how to roll your own....course AU338 would haveta do the Magnum loading section since I'm allergic to recoil.

My original question was geared toward what you could “keep” if it ever came to that. Wasn’t insinuating ways to hide me owning an AK. Just questioning what all would I be required to give up? Wonder if they’d make uppers FFL controlled too? Trigger groups? Just a hypothetical....

I agree, ammo would be the easiest way to put the pinch on gun owners unfortunately.
