It would really suck to pour concrete today.

I have heard from several reliable sources, that pouring concrete in hot weather substantially increases your risk of cracking. Hope you're not actually pouring today.

You got to get it down, get it finished, water it down and keep it watered down or water then cover with poly and water that down.

I will add another piece of advice. If you are hiring it done don’t pay them until the joints are cut.

My employer sells concrete and pours millions of feet of it. They freak out so bad when its hot or cold on these huge jobs. I have seen it have to be redone several times due to cracking. And thats after they pulled out all the tricks. I wont pour my property til its cooler but thats me.

I have had to pull up so much curb, aprons and sidewalks over the years. When you have a deadline and you know its gonna crack, they they are forced to pour anyway from higher up chiefs.

The best driveways are crushed concrete by the way. If asphault is not happening.

This is how you do it in hot weather. Sun beating down on flat slab in high heat will cause the surface of the concrete to flash cure but under the surface does not cure at same rate. Surface can crack and flake off in these cases. Not good.
