Does anyone happen to know what species of black oat they use in their blends?

You ever planted those 257? That's the variety I was looking at.

Yes we plant a bunch up here. It’s the only oat variety I’d plant.

We always use a 6x6 piece of heavy duty chain link fence to drag after spreading seed for everything we plant including that WMS deer magnet and it always works great.

I ordered some that this year. After looking at the label, I thought there was no way that it plants one acre broadcasted. Looks like I'll add 25 lbs of either wheat or oats.

We always go 2 bags per acre unless we are adding brassica to the mix.
