Just saw a video where a guy was open carrying in Walmart. Not wise in my opinion but it’s legal in Alabama and his right. (this happened in Kentucky ) getting banned for carrying.

Video

Walmart is private property and they can ask you don’t carry and ask you to leave. If you don’t then it’s trespassing I believe. . Sucks but that’s the way it is. Just don’t shop there

I avoid Walmart if at all possible. I also don’t open carry. But I’m warning everyone else here to be mindful of carrying in Walmart.

It probably won't be long before a plain clothed officer goes into one open carrying and is reported and they try to ban him/her.

I think open carry is stupid and reckless.
A. You're just being an attention whore.
B. I don't want the bad guy to know I'm armed until I need him to know.

My opinions and comments are my own. They do not reflect the position or political opinions of Aldeer or any of the Aldeer administration.

He should have a badge plainly visible or identify himself when challenged.

Open carry is a right and legal and you’re saying a person is an attention whore for exercising their God given right expressed in the constitution. You sound like a Democrat running for office.
As for a bad guy knowing you’re armed ....when you start digging in your waistband or boot or pockets to get at whatever you carry your drawing attention to yourself.
I open carry and CC it just depends on where I’m at and if I deem which is appropriate

Agreed. That’s why I like other folks to do it. If a bad guy wants to start something, I’ve got to believe his attention will be on the open carry guy.

Open carry is appropriate in places. Like your own private property or in the woods.
In public you're just an attention whore.

Bryan open carry only makes you a target and the bad guy recognizes you as a threat, guess where his first round is going? No one that is CC is going to draw while the perp is looking at you, unless you have a death wish. If you work in some businesses, open carry is appropriate too. It's everyones choice, but I wouldn't especially if with my family, an errant round could hit them too. Open carry is great in the woods. It's your right so do what you think best, but consider all facts.

I concur.

Especially when most of the open carry I see is a velcro holster with a velcro strap that just bounces around.

A mans got to know his limitations.

I wish conceal carry was legal. Open carry is the only way to carry legally without having to buy your right.

I read something on this after seeing the video last week. The guy went into WM open carrying, and went to the sporting goods dept. When a WM employee asked if he needed help, he told them he was "waiting on someone" and started acting suspicious. Employee called a mgr who asked him to leave after seeing his firearm. He left sporting goods but remained in the store. That is when the cops were called.

Seems like it is typically some combloc oddball 9x17 hipster gun or a Hi Point in an Uncle Mikes velcro nonsense holster.
If you insist on open carrying at least get a Safariland with a lock.
