Just got the call from my lab work and I’m positive for Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. I had Lyme in 2010 and the worst part of it was the antibiotics. They’re getting ready to start me on doxycycline. Anyone had it before? What do I have to look forward to?

doxy is not too rough. Eat some yogurts along with it if you get stomach issues.

Dang, I sure hate that for you. Seems like ticks target you. Hoping the meds get you over it quickly.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

I've had it a couple of times. The worst was laying in a bed for two days going between 97 and 105 degrees. Doxycycline is generally not recommended to take with dairy products as it can bind the drug and make it less effective. Also avoid sunlight as it will make you burn really easily. Take your medicine until it is gone.

Praying for a speedy recovery but I have a question. What were your symptoms that prompted your lab work? Thanks!!

Started having an upset stomach (both ways), real bad headache and was just feeling like crap. I’m also extremely cautious about pulling ticks off after the bout with Lyme in 2010. The tick I pulled off on Monday had been on me since Friday, right in my beard line.... I just missed him. I knew with one being in that long I was probably hosed.

I’ve been on that for the past six months as well as IV antibiotics.
I feel like total dog shucks. No energy what so ever.

Good grief..., what sickness did you have? When I had Lyme that’s what they did to me.

I hope you get better soon.

I had a tick on me for a few days a couple of years ago. It was during turkey season and it burred itself in my waist line on my back side. My wife noticed it when I got out of the shower one evening. A few weeks later I started getting the chills and night sweats. Went to the doctor and they got blood. Couple of days later the doctor called and said that my liver enzymes were a little high. Asked if I’ve been drinking a lot of alcohol. No. Maybe 4 beers a month. Did more test and turned up nothing. But I still occasionally have chills and night sweats. Weird.

As stated:
No energy
Easy to burn
Upset stomach

Took me a long time to get over it....6 months or so.

Stepped on a nail and my foot got infected. Had to get part of my foot amputated and the infection
Will not go away. I’ve had what my Doc calls the foot flu. Basically you feel like you have the full
