Buddy of mine has a dog that is a dove killer. Last two dove hunts she has brought back birds nobody shot. She hides in bushes and grabs the ones who are able to land in the field. Do you have to count those birds as part of your limit? This is the best dove dog I’ve ever seen.

Just buy the dog a licence and count those birds in their limit. Be sure they also harvest info sheet

I have a dove hunting miniature Peekapoo. Dove hunting machine right there. We noticed his inclination to chase birds when he was just a pup so we nurtured that in him. He would run and jump after them and had an extraordinary hang time that just seemed to get better as he grew into a full grown 4 lb dog. Well, one day we got the idea to make him some little wings so he could have a better chance at catching them. The day we tried them out we were at the condo in orange beach. We had to toss him off of the balcony 3 or 4 times before he got the hang of it, but once he did it was on. I'm just glad there was a pool down there. A Peekapoo will dive surprisingly deep when tossed from the 9th floor by the way. I did put water wings on him to0 the first few times. They got in the way of the aero wings just a little but I didn't want him to drown. Anyway, on the fourth of fifth toss, he was in a nose dive only for a few floors and then he took right off after a seagull. He chased that stupid Gull around the building a few times and out over the gulf for a little way then I guess he got tired and came on back and landed on the balcony next to us. I got my wife to climb over and around and get him. Most of the time now he launches from my truck bed or off my arm. He will catch 10 or 12 birds each hunt these days. Last year though he came in low chasing one that was coming to the pond and a young man across the field thought he was a big dove and winged him with his .410. He folded up and fortunately landed in the pond. I fetched him out and carried him to the vet. Dang vet charged me 2 grand to save him. Now he don't get off the ground without a full body hunter orange suit on. Y'all have fun Saturday and watch out for peoples dogs. Other peoples carelessness gets expensive.
