I don't have time to build anything else this year before deer season, but I was thinking this might be something I might try and fool with next year. Aluminum framed shooting house. I built this one for a lease I'm in right by the house, its 4x6 so I can sit it easy with my little boy. I framed it in the shop and skinned it once I had it out at the lease. I was able to load it on the trailer and unload it myself ok, with two people you could actually pick it up and move it around fairly easy. It would take a little more labor, and in turn cost a little more, but I could flange the cross members, and actually make it where it could bolt together on site. Would depend on what aluminum prices are this time next year, but right now I'm thinking the $700-$800 dollar range for the frame to be worth fooling with. For what I see them selling wooden framed box stands for in the greater New Orleans area, I feel like they'd sell. What does Aldeer think?

If you can make one 5 x 7 (or bigger) so two grownups can sit comfortably, I'm in
Agreed. 4 ft deep shooting houses are a little tight for us bigger fellas.

look at what people pay for a plastic box and they still have to build a platform to set it on. find a lightweight durable material like plastic to side it with and make it able to break down into 4 walls + the roof and floor market it as indestructible I can see these selling. one thing I know I hate doing is maintaining old rotten wood shooting houses.

Because its lightweight, you are going to have to find a good ground anchor system for it. Otherwise, when its empty and a good wind comes up, its going to be blown over. Looks really good. Just need some decent anchors.

Just need some decent anchors. A single mobile home anchor centered underneath would cure that. Make it a bolt together as a prefabbed wall kit. They’ll ship flat and broaden your market.

You can get a mobile home anchor in this rocky ground up here. You can weld angle iron to rebar stakes and use the lip on the angle over the tubing. Drive rebar in. Do several around it

Why not just make it from 11ga steel. It would have to be a lot cheaper. I just bought a 37x48 piece of 1/8 aluminum plate and it was over 100.00
Two roads diverged in the woods and I took the one with deep ruts, hills and mud.It may be bumpy but WHAT A RIDE!

Check with one of the metal roofing companies. You should be able to get colored pre-creased (slick) metal cut to whatever lengths you would. It will out last you and it will be inexpensive. That would be one noisy object to sit in.
If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

I would just make some decent hammer in U shaped stake tacks. About a foot long to put along the base rails.
