More good grub last night. My Dad and Irish Jr. came over for dinner so Mrs. Irish and I whipped up a quick meal of pan seared Alaskan salmon with a Maple glaze, sauteed fresh asparagus and garlic roasted heirloom potatoes. Pretty nice meal for a weeknight...

That ALL looks good, right down to the lemon chunk. I don't know why lemon works so well with fish. I just know it does. I have never tried it with Maple. I'm guessing Maple syrup? Sounds good.

Normally, I think she does real maple syrup, butter and chopped fresh ginger and then reduces it in a pan. I'll ask her. It's great on Salmon though.

I'm sitting here eating some grilled Flounder and Asparagus right now. I wish I had thought to open this thread before I started cooking. I have 2 different bottles of Maple syrup I bought along the Blue Ridge Parkway. I WILL try some Maple glaze on fish before long though.

Y'all need to open a restaurant. Just a one or two night per week bistro type deal up at Mentone.

I honestly don't think it would work on anything but Salmon or some other robust, fatty fish. I think it would seriously over power a light white fish like flounder or cod, etc..

We have a lot of friends say that, but honestly, I would rather take an ass whippin' than open a restaurant. I'm not one of those "the customer is always right" people. I'd be telling people "You don't like the salmon... Get the Hell out of my Restaurant!" grin

Works great as a glaze for pork loin....double the ginger and it’s outstanding on chicken wings

Salmon it is. Cooking it now. After tasting the glaze I do believe I've had that a few times on salmon in restaurants. I have never done it myself before though. Either way, it's going to be good. Thanks for putting the idea in my head Irish Guy.
