It was very interesting until around the last 1/4th of the first season. Then there were too many graphic homosexual scenes. It becomes a major factor in the series. It is too sick to continue and I regret ever getting interested in the storyline. It was about a married couple where the wife travels back 200 years and her attempts to return to her time. Why the writer felt the need to turn to perversion is beyond me.

Every show does this now Perch.....Hollywood, wants to make damn sure that the mental illness that is being gay, is plastered all over everything.

Perch, I watched the first few seasons when it was on STARZ and those scenes are not pleasant to watch, but keep in mind they are not about homosexual love, they are about power, dominance and, just as you said, the extreme perversion of that character. I'm with you that it could have been done less graphically, but then we wouldn't have been made to feel uncomfortable, which is exactly what they were trying to do and obviously succeeded. If that one bothered you, just wait until later in the series. A brutal, brutal homo rape.

That is why i posted that. So you, Perch, or anyone else that doesn't want to see it has a choice. I saw it but didn't know exactly what was coming or that it was going to be as bad as it was. I could've done without, but I will say it did exactly what the producers, writers, and director wanted and I'm certainly not squeamish about seeing things. I saw enough in real life that I am not too fond of seeing it on TV. I just don't particularly enjoy extremely violent movies or shows.

Other than that story line, I enjoyed the show and the way they intertwined history with fantasy.

My wife and I started watching it because it was on Netflix and the idea seemed interesting. I stopped watching pretty early on because of other stuff, but my wife stopped right when that junk happened. I get what Jawbone was saying, but I deal with enough garbage in my day to day life (don't we all), I don't want to subject myself to that, too.

Thats why you use your remote. Just fast forward that crap.. You dont have to watch stuff. I never could have watched shameless without fast forward.
