Meh. I hope it's right for the sake of hunting. I'll bet we're sweating our nads off again in Feb like last season.

Long as we get hit hard as hell I'm alright. Need some days off, paid days off that is...I like some bad storms as long as I'm prepared.

Had a bad storm come in this past season and I thought I was screwed. Got out to help a few old people and realized how folks die in blizzards. It was horrible and I was a mile or two from home. Zero visibility. I'd open my windows of my truck to speak to folks, and it'd fill up with snow. That'd amount to a build up of condensation on the inside. Man it was bad.

Luckily for me I took the chance of driving off road for the remainder of my trip and I got home. I was going a few miles to the liquor store (go figure) but it turned bad.

The Almanac's long-term predictions are made 18 months in advance, according to the Old Farmer's Almanac website. ... The Almanac claims an 80 percent accuracy rate, according to Sarah Perreault, senior editor. “We work alongside a meteorologist to determine weather patterns,” Perreault said.Jan 12, 2018

They still are more correct than the weather people which amazes me.

This is purely anecdotal evidence, but when we got to the cabin last night I needed a sweater to sit outside and watch the stars. We opened several windows in the cabin and at one point in the middle of the night I had to get up and start closing them. And I'm pretty cold natured. I usually set the thermostat at 66 degrees at night. I think when we got up this morning it was in the low 50's.

Thank goodness I've rented the bucket lift and I'm installing the chimney for the wood stove this weekend.

I've started seeing big squirrel nests already made. They look like triple-insulated condos or something. I know they're good little planners but it seems a little early to be building monster nests. Maybe the ones I've seen have extra nut storage space.

The article said that 2/3 of the country would be colder than normal.

Ohhhhh. Gotcha. Thanks. 👍
Yeah you're right, we're still likely to be warmer than normal.

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

If it kills all the dadgum ticks and chiggers I'm all for it, I can't go into the woods without getting eat up. I think they've gotten immune to permethrin
