I do remember an episode of Swamp People, shortly after that show started, where one of the guys got permission to fish a "private slough"....they ride up do this slough and sure enough, there's literally a gate across the entrance to the slough....like a cattle gate, hung just above the water, with a lock on it. I always thought that was bizarre.
This is common throughout Louisiana, especially in the marshes. If it's not a gate it can be signs, painted posts or something else including - sometimes - cables, chains or rope strung across canals or entryways. Sometimes these are marked, sometimes not. Decapitating someone isn't a big issue for landowners who don't want you on their property or water.

A copy of this video was just sent to a member of the Al State Troopers, Marine Division. Let’s see where it goes now. Probably no where since it happened in Oklahoma would be my best guess....

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Oklahoma Department of Tourism and Recreation allow marinas on state lakes to restrict fishing access by as much as 50 feet from boat docks. looks like they were just forcefully removing an uncooperative trespasser. always more to the story than what you hear from one side.

I would have tied on a large treble hook and snatched their ass out of the boat, then it would have gotten REAL ugly.

Even if so, terrible way to go about it. They're lucky the guys in the bass boat responded calmly. More than likely they will still be responsible for the damages to the bass boat.

is a boat the same as a car? Hell no, no one drowns when they get knocked out of a car.

Looks like couple smart asses pissed off a couple of folks you find here and are whining about it . Why start some thing if you intend not to finish it. Trying to make point can get your ass whooped if you are right . The way things are these days you need to walk off are be ready to take it to a bad ending

If I was in the wrong, I leave and that situation never occurs! Otherwise those two would've been really lucky to have only left with an ass whipping! Either way they wouldn't have rammed my boat but once! The second time they started toward me they would've been trying to plug 16 .45 caliber holes in that can!
