I need to caveat this whole post with I understand how big of DAs the democratic candidates are..... but having said that so many of them are running on getting rid of fossil fuels. My question is two fold:

1. Are they so out of touch with reality that they don't realize the need to power engines across this country for long distances that fossil fuels are necessary (both fiscally and technologically)?

2. Are they just so out of touch with technology that they don't realize we have electric engines that can power trucks (both personal and semi's) to do the things Americans need to do?

The hilarious part is that by getting rid of fossil fuels, people in the third world would end up deforesting most of the earth to heat their houses and cook with wood fire, thereby extincting many species and ruining lots of beautiful rainforests that they so adore. Nothing is as clear-cut as it first appears.

Air travel simply isn't possible without fossil fuels. It requires immense energy to get what is basically a bus into the air 30,000 feet. You don't hear people vilifying air travel as irresponsible, because everyone, including liberals, loves to do it. But it burns a lot of gas.

We want to be "green", but we dang sure want our Amazon package in 2 days from California, too.

Q160, yes, democrats are stupid! VERY STUPID!!! And they're giving this country away!

But let me ask a question.... "How is the electricity produced that is required to charge electric motors?" Not all energy comes from hydro-electric dams, ya know?! Do we have, and is it feasible, to produce 100% clean energy? I don't know the answers but AOC is NOT individual that needs to dictate our future energy sources!

Nuclear is the only answer.

The silly truth is that the candidates know full well what they are saying is complete bullschit. They know that the press is on their side and a significant portion of the electorate is not capable of reasoning through an issue and the rest of them are just Fn stupid.

They are only saying these things to get elected. Once elected, they'll have amnesia and their partners in crime, the media, won't hold their feet to the fire.

Just another case of stupidity outweighing common sense and simple Econ101. Fossil Fuels will go away when other fuel sources become cheaper and more efficient. That can not happen by Democratic Decree no matter how bad they want it to be.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Bottom line is all the "issues", (climate change, immigration issues, etc), we have are just symptoms of the the big problem............. overpopulation of the planet. Humans are simply headed on a course to outstrip the resources of the planet. Elsewhere in the animal kingdom resources dictate populations along with a good dose of Darwin. Humans have evolved and are intelligent enough to figure out some solutions to problems which have enabled us to thrive. Most of us hunters practice management of the game we hunt and understand what a healthy balance is, so it should be easy for us to see what is coming. We may not see it in our lifetime but it is coming.

David

They will tax it to where gas will be $8 - $10 a gal, just like Europe. This will force people to use public transportation, move closer to work, end casual driving trips, etc.

Thought I posted about this yesterday but I guess I didn’t hit post. They will not and can not get rid of fossil fuels. Man kind has built this world around it. It takes machines to build cars even electric one. How they gonna lube those machines. You would be amazed how much hydraulic fluid it take to run a wind mill on those wind farms. Need plastic for computers and water bottles. Still need tires for electric cars. All petroleum byproducts. I would love to debate those idiots on this topic. Like my grandad use to say they are speaking out their butts. Could you imagine the lose of jobs if they end fossil fuels?
