As for the speculation of Rip dying I certainly hope not as he is a great character. However, with his loyalty to John Dutton and John's love for Tate I imagine Rip has no intentions of stopping short of getting Tate back no matter the situation they walk in to when getting to the Beck brothers place and it certainly isn't going to be pretty.
