Why did Tuscumbia hire him to begin with after he was fired for killing a deer while on duty from his patrol car on TVA land? This!!!! Because in today's political environment and with the poor pay for officers, it is getting harder and harder to find officers that should be in the profession, therefore, some agencies have resorted to lowering their standards and accepting anyone that has minimum standards. The answer to this is for APOSTC to take a more active role in pulling certifications of those not suited for the job. They are reticent in doing this however and prefer to rely on the agencies to weed people out. There was a time, in the not to distant past, that I was doing background checks and two things, among others, that were automatic disqualifiers were being fired from another LE agency or a Dishonorable Discharge from the military. This is not the case anymore.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Had a friend (whose passed on now) was a former city and county officer tell me the same thing (they let anyone become a police officer these days) and that was 19 years ago

Our agency is the same way. Every time I go to the office there’s new people everywhere. I have nothing against female officers but there is more and more being hired and some I’d rather have my back then some of these young guys that are scared and f their own shadows. Not many of us older guys left.

What pisses me off Marsh is i was set to go into the Military when I was 19 and was turned down at the time because i have scullious, buddy told me after 911 that i had a good chance of getting in and I told him nope that ship done sailed. And now just look at the weirdos they're letting in the Military smh
