So, to do it correctly with these WMA's and by the book, you must have the below (4) documents on you at all times. If you shoot something, you then have to do (2) things: Record the kill on the app or hand write out the tag and "affix" it to the animal. Then physically report the animal to the station. Can those that make these laws/regs not see why this has become a discouraging process? I'm all for laws but this has gotten over-the-top. And, yes, I do know it's been this way for a while.
1. A hunting license 2. Management area permit 3. Management area license 4. A Wildlife Heritage License

A cell phone will handle all that information, all that’s needed.
If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

I thought I was the most technical illiterate goober around here, but I've obviously been dethroned.

Okay, now here comes an even dumber question - how do you access this app on your phone with no reception? Where I hunt they have to pipe in the sunshine.

The app stores all your license information and harvest record for offline access.

A cell phone will handle all that information, all that’s needed. For WMAs I’m pretty sure you have to have a signed and dated paper copy of the permit.

There is 2 different high fence. 1 small and one big! Mine was free range in the big pen and was not a breeder buck. Why does it have to be twisted around??

Must have paper and signed. Date seems to be no longer on the permit.

I don’t think they want anyone hunting public land. Never seen a state so complicated and difficult to do so. Q

I believe that your heritage license is included in your hunting and/or fishing licenses. You don't have to buy it separately. The app or the hard copies either one will work. If you just must, you can take a picture or screenshot the info from the app. But like Outback said, it should be stored offline. The Heritage License is separate from a hunting or fishing license, but it has some of the benefits of either. https://www.outdooralabama.com/nongame-wildlife-program/wildlife-heritage-licenseI believe the Heritage was introduced mid-2000s to give hunters/anglers age 65-older the chance to buy a license at a reduced price and help the DCNR. The department could count the Heritage licenses toward its annual report to the feds and thus receive more of the returned P-R money, just like with other licenses. I have a Lifetime license but those are only able to be counted for seven years with the feds (unless something has changed). So if I wanted to contribute again in some way, I could buy the Heritage annual or Lifetime and the department would get another bump. This is why the bait "privilege license" is called a license instead of a permit. It can be counted as part of the numbers to the feds. It's one reason, among several, the WMA "daily permit" (map, regs, required) is labeled that way and is free.

I don’t think they want anyone hunting public land. Never seen a state so complicated and difficult to do so. Q You've obviously never hunted the western states. You need a law degree to interpret the regulations almost anywhere west of Arkansas.

I’ve hunted public in Nebraska. With a few exceptions they are open just like private land.
But I’m sure some of them are as bad.
I just don’t understand why make it so complicated. They are not used much as it is.

I just don’t understand why make it so complicated. They are not used much as it is. If complicated regulations keep more people away, then I'm in favor of the complications.
