Currently have AT&T cell service, considering moving to Verizon....would be cheaper and has unlimited data, compared to our more expensive AT&T with limited data.
Just curious about network coverage (particularly in the Tuscaloosa area and North MS. Also how fast their mobile innerwebs network is, compared to AT&T's.
Thoughts?

It’s funny how different areas effect cell service. We moved to ATT from Verizon bc it was MUCH cheaper with ATT and we have unlimited data.
Matter of fact, we have unlimited data, 16g hotspot and Direct tv cheaper than we had 16g and crappy service with Verizon.

Coverage can be spotty out in the country like between Tuscaloosa and Fayette. There's zero coverage up that way on highway 43. It's crazy.

Considering I frequent both of these areas, I'd vote for ATT. There's areas in the middle of Tupelo where I can't stream music because there's data gaps in Verizon.

It's crazy. we regularly travel from Tuscaloosa to Memphis, going up 13 to Hwy 78. With AT&T, we'll lose signal 2-3 times on 13 between Samantha and Hwy 78, but not usually for more than a minute or so at a time. Ditto on Hwy 78 from Exit 39 to Red Banks, MS.

Ymmv. Me too. I liked Verizon a little better, but I'm saving $210 a month after switching everything. My whole bill, 2 phones, internet, and tv is cheaper than just my phone bill was with Verizon.

I have been down this road many times and let me assure you it is just like cable/satellite companies. If you bounce back and forth every year or two or when rates go up the price/data will be better or cheaper, etc...I can tell you first hand in remote areas you wont always have coverage with everyone but if you had an ATT and Verizon phone next to each other (at the same time) in those areas you will get service with VZ first. I actually had both for a number of years (one personal one work while hunting). In town all are pretty equal IMO (mobile). There is only one place that excels in town with ATT and that is in the underground lairs at Providence Hopital where I work. Our work phones are ATT and VZ won't pickup crap. Much like Perch can't pickup a woman unless she is dead and he is driving a backhoe. But we have an ATT 4g antennae on the 15th floor tower roof.

There is a cell tower being erected down the street from me. I hope it’s Verizon.

Ymmv. We did the same a few months ago went from 16gb at Verizon to att with u limited and was 50-60 a month cheaper then version. Plus verizon in our area has went from great service to splotchy signal over the last 3 years. And so far we've had way better reception since the swap
