It may just be my location (NE Bama) but most of the maples and sweetgums are turning yellow or already losing leaves, I'm seeing lots of small acorns on the ground and have seen a few ripe muscadines. This is very odd, normally these changes would be happening a month from now. We've had a good bit of rain, and it's been hot but I wouldn't say out of the ordinary. What do yall think? Is fall gonna get here earlier this year?

Nope fall will be as hot or hotter than summer just like normal. Last year we had a big cold front in the end of August then it was 95 til October. This is the normal pattern now days. Fall will arrive about November and last until March

Yeah, I felt fall today too. The heat index was only a mere 112! slap

Guess I'm just being too optimistic but it did feel good this evening. Low humidity, nice breeze and in the low seventies.

Trees start changing color this time of year every year. The yellow poplar are the first.

But yes, if fruit trees start shedding fruit before they are ripe, it is to protect the tree(and in this case could be from drought)

I would really like to see fall come early but the leaves turning and acorns falling is the drought/heat doing it. my driveway has hundreds of red oak acorns on it already

Early fall would be nice but I guessing it’s from the heat and lack of rain.

Heat and drought. People every year wish for an early fall including me. Not sure if I ever can recall it happening or it’s been years seems like it stays hit now until next veneer

That happens when it's this dry. Our hay fields were grey yesterday. It's dry when grass turns grey.
