I haven't seen...
A skunk, a nightjar, a bluejay, a field lark, a quail, a snipe, a yellow-hammer, a scorpion, a starling or a red headed woodpecker...
...in many, many years.
I used to see all of these regularly when I was a kid.

Don't see lighting bugs anymore. They spray mosquitos in my area, I guess they kill them all, although it don't do much to kill mosquitos. Don't see many here either

Think about those massive flocks of blackbirds we used to see in the late70s and early 80s. They would go on forever. Haven’t seen flocks like that in many years. We were talking about that at work last week. I used to sneak out the door with my old 870 and round the corner of the house looking at a cut cornfield. There would be gazillions of them on the ground. I could usually get 15 or 20 of them.
