I'm going to be hunting public land in some rough terrain this year. Who makes a good game cart that will hold up in rough conditions?

You're a young guy. You could just come haul my deer out for me and then come back for turkey season and I'll haul your turkey out for you. Fair trade?

If it's rough terrain, I bet a cart will bring the pain... Depending on how steep it is, a chainsaw winch could be a better option. If it'll pull and elk, a deer be a piece of cake

I've got a cart. I wish I had gotten a sled instead. Cart is not good on a side slope.

I hunt public land exclusively and I quit dragging deer out a couple years ago. I bought an army rucksack and quarter the deer out where it dies then hike out with nice padded shoulder straps and a kidney belt. It is much easier on the body.

I have one of these:
https://www.sportsmansguide.com/pro...bEjuSvn75S3b26dO8aXWcatHLBYaAomsEALw_wcB

Unrolling it is a PIA in cold weather, but it makes dragging things so much easier.

Looking for a photo to add, I came across this one. This one is more expensive, but this looks much easier to use than the one I have because it has better straps and pull rope.

Gutless method, quarter, put in game bags, pack out...beats the hell out of pulling something any day of the week.

This is what I’m gonna do this year. Some of the drags out of the woods I’ve had the last couple years have been stupid.

Treat it just like an Elk. Keep a back pack ready with a single tree, saw, knife etc

I hunt on the side of a mountain. I use this https://www.amazon.com/Cass-Creek-C...5875982&s=sporting-goods&sr=1-16 It is light and small and only take ~2 deer a year.

I'd just kill one next to your vehicle so you dont have to worry about carting it out. If you're good enough it shouldnt be a problem.

If you get a cart, remember the larger the wheels the easier to roll.

I've been using the game cart to haul stuff around the shop lately.
Yesterday it carried seven 5 gallon buckets of hydraulic oil (one trip) to the D5 dozer I was working on.
Best use so far!! laugh

God Bless,
David B.

Backpack it out. By far the best way. That's what I have always used on public land. Sled would be 2nd best option.
