Is it legal to hunt coyotes in Alabama with buckshot? I read on a message board that it is not legal in Tennessee, but I could see no such restriction in Alabama. Am I missing it? Thanks in advance for your help.

Call the DCNR in Montgomery at 334-242-3465 and ask for the Law Enforcement Section, and ask them to make sure.

I don't think anybody cares if you shoot them with buckshot, rifle, bow and arrow, run over them with a 4-wheeler or a 76 Ford pickup, just kill'em.

I agree, timber, but I'll guarantee you someone somewhere would say, "Hey, you can't shoot those with that. It says so in Rule 29-39A-ZC-cross on Two Hut-Hut" and write a citation.

You have not missed it. I looked for that just last week. It ain't there. There is a coyote information pdf on Outdoor Alabama that says buckshot is a great way to kill coyotes, but also right above that they said using nightvison is a great way to hunt them, which is illegal. Daylight hours only. So that said, I wouldn't trust that for anything. If you find out please let us know. I'm curious too.

they have different ammunition regulations for several different animals coyotes are unprotected and have no restriction. Type in "code of alabama 220-2-.02 " n a google search youll be able to see every one of them

Shot a coyote in the face 2 years ago from about 30 feet with #6. He couldn’t tell that they weren’t #4’s!

I just looked at the new Skyline WMA permit/maps and there is a certain date range you can not use buckshot for coyotes. Just fyi.
