I made this video a couple of years ago just kinda as a fun thing that I wanted to do for myself but I figured other guys may like it so i put it on YouTube. I grew up hunting in the late 90's/early 2000's and technology has changed hunting so much in just that short amount of time that it's unreal. In this video I rounded up as much of my old original equipment that I could get my hands on and set out to try and replicate an old hunt from years gone by. Making this video brought back a lot of great memories for me and hopefully it will do the same for some of you guys that can still remember the aluminium arrow smack! Hope you enjoy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMtXED6kUoQ

Woodsman8 has some great videos! Love the old school video! Loved hearing those aluminum arrows snap as the deer broke it off. Hard to forget that sound

Round ‘bout there

I saw some camo aluminum Easton XX75s yesterday at Custom Archery. Good memories.

I used aluminum arrows exclusively for hunting with my crossbow until I recently purchased one of the ultra fast setups. I saw no appreciable difference in accuracy at hunting distance and liked the idea of an aluminum shaft vs sharp carbon fibers in an animal in case it was broken off. the carbon arrows make a big difference with my fast crossbow though and I'll stick with them.

I always enjoy your videos Ben. I was hoping you were going to post some from last rifle season. Do you plan on videoing your deer hunts this season?

Great video.

I have a dozen XX75 2317 arrows with Simmons 195 grain Interceptors on them next to my old Oregon
bow in my bow closet.

It was slow but you could break both front shoulders with it.

I shot XX75 2317s out of my old High County with I believe it was 2" overdraw and 125gr 3 blade Thunderheads. When you hit a deer with it it did damage!

I still prefer aluminum bolts for my crossbow. I had some carbon bolts shatter on impact on 2 deer and went back to aluminum. Great video by the way!

I think I still have about 575 dozen aluminum arrows in the garage from when I switched over to carbon. I may post them in the classifieds one day.

Great video...Thanks.
