I agree with outback. Don't waste your money. Go get you a $100 Weber kettle, some charcoal, lighter fluid and fire that beotch up. Best cooking grill I have ever had. You can smoke meat on it, cook a fine steak anything. If you have trouble with intimacy in the bedroom, drag that baby in there with you and you will feel like a real man. Lighter fluid 🤠what's that?

If you decide on a pellet grill, stay away from the Traeger. The quality is not what is used to be. I've had a Traeger for about 10 years and I had to put a new fire rod and thermostat switch on it last year. They lasted about 5 cookings. There went $100. I bought a Pit Boss and I like it alot better. It has the sliding drip pan that allows you to sear over an open flame. The temps are hotter, and so far...the quality seems better than the Traeger. .02
Not to mention the price tag is about half that of a comparable traeger

Just a little suspicious of the contents of the pellets, Looks like gerbil food to me.

Y'all take this grilling stuff too personally. Any man that's grilling/smoking meat in the backyard is a winner in my book. I'm more concerned with the end product than the avenue by which I reach it, and I couldn't give less of a crap what some goober on the innerwebs thinks of my manhood due to my choice of cooking apparatuses. With 2 small kids, my "free time" is virtually zero, so I don't really get the opportunity to just sit around all day tending a grill/smoker. With something like burgers/steaks, not really an issue. But with a longer cook like smoking bbq, I don't have the time to sit around constantly watching temps, adjusting vents, putting in more wood/charcoal, etc. With a pellet grill, it's pretty much "set it and forget it". Just make sure the hopper is full when you start and let'er eat. It's dummy-proof, which is what I need. Hell, I've been agreeing with Out Back too much lately, anyway.

Ford vs Chevy vs Dodge here. All kinds of different ones for all different styles and needs. Personally in this season of life, I'm 100% a charcoal guy. I'm not a fan of trying to remember to fill up gas tanks and fool with pellets, and have so many little kids and big dogs running around that I don't want to risk a $1k grill being knocked over and ruined. Charcoal for me. I looked around for a good while several months ago looking for a big charcoal grill that specifically did not have a side smoker. I knew I wouldn't use a smoker and didn't want one taking up space. This one has been great for me so far and didn't break the bank. I got it marked down for around $100. I know it won't last forever but I'm pleased so far and plan to get the same one or something similar when this one finally craps out. https://www.homedepot.com/p/RiverGrille-Stampede-37-5-in-Charcoal-Grill-CG2053904-RG/206291330To each his own. I'm gonna enjoy a hot steak and a cold beer and go on about my bidness.

And a bag of pellets will last about 5-6 cookings for me. I buy them on Amazon, so I don't even have to deal with idiots when I'm buying supplies. Call me a pus if you want, I don't care. I'll keep my pellet grill. I like my pus like I like my grilled meat...hot and juicy....and that pellet grill delivers every time. If you like your meats hard and dry, have at it.

Get some version of a ceramic grill. Whether it's a Big Green Egg, Primo, Kamado Joe, etc. Correct answer.

A little bit more to consider. Cooking will be done in a screened in porch so the open flame of charcoal grill may be a little much. Pellet Smoker grill and be done. It's too easy. No gas, no charcoal. no flame. Just buy a bag of pellets and plug in in the wall. Done.

Grills are for people who wax their legs. Real men eat everything raw. When you must cook for the women and children, all meat should be cooked over a freshly chopped burn pile and lit using only a cigar and gasoline.
